So it seems that my fake PHD has been called into question by none other than Benny, my trusted friend. To this I say first, please pull your dagger from my wounded back.

Second, I say that when you are young and given bad information by a trusted source such as The Corn Palace, you feel very bad. Growing up I thought that corn would not burn. Yes, I did believe something so dumb, but when you're ten it sounds possible.

I know there's no excuse other than to say that Benny is a drunk and a liar. While neither of those things are true, if they were they would sure help my case.

I had a conversation with the illustrious Doctor Boxcar today. Our conversation was about corn. And the combustible nature of said vegetable. Apparently, his PhD is not in foodstuffs, because he claimed to have once believed that corn - that oh so valuable staple of life across the globe - was flame retardant. That is to say, resistant to burning.

Well today I post my first of many blogs to come. It has been a long holiday weekend filled with a lot of fun. Dr. Boxcar and I went rustic camping and brought The Ladies along for the fun. We ate some good food, saw some HUGE (like rip-your-arms-off-huge) spiders and discussed Hobocon. I was not able to go this year for the first time like Benny. This will be good though. I will get to give a view not unlike that of a young babe in the woods of all the craziness. Over the next few weeks, I will get to know you and you will get to know me.

That's a great question... and something that I would love to answer. Unfortunately, I lost the back lid of the pizza box that I wrote it on. Looks like back to the drawing board. Seriously, that thing was like Tolstoy long too.

So as not to lose it this time, I will write it in various places on my body. Soon enough you will know my story. Maybe then you will wish you didn't.

Don't get me wrong, Hobofans. I like weather. I enjoy some good extreme weather. With the wind blowing and the rain gettin' all crazy horizontal and junk. But when my power goes out for two days as a result of it, I get bummed. I guess I should just be thankful that it came back sooner than the 3 and a half days the power company was predicting.
